In a year with Microsoft launching Forza Motorsport, Hi-Fi Rush and Starfield, it’s crazy that Redfall also exists. Released in May to overwhelmingly negative response, its player base is almost non-existent, even with the recent Title Update, which adds the long-awaited 60 FPS Performance Mode.
Nevertheless, Bethesda is keen to stick with it, with former senior VP Pete Hines even stating it would become good game down the line. The publisher is seemingly keen on giving it a “redemption arc” of sorts, according to Jez Corden of Windows Central in a recent podcast.
“I spoke to some Bethesda people, and… Well, I say I spoke to, but I eavesdropped a Bethesda conversation at the not-E3 events in LA this year, and they were talking about sticking with the game. Yeah, they were talking about sticking with the game for years. They want to give it a ‘redemption arc‘ and stuff like that.”
It’s worth noting that this is much before the recent Title Update, so whether plans have changed based on that remains to be seen. Corden is also unsure how this will pan out since there aren’t a lot of players currently. As always, time will tell.
