Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Child of Light Update is Now Live on Xbox One, PS4, and PC

Aurora is now playable in ArtPlay's 2D Metroidvania title. Along with a sword and her own unique abilities, she also has Igniculus as support.

As revealed yesterday, Aurora from Child of Light is becoming a playable character in ArtPlay’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The update is now available for PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms for free (with Nintendo Switch players getting it later). For everyone else, there’s a new trailer that showcases Aurora’s play-style and abilities. Check it out below.

Transported into the world of Bloodstained without knowing why, Aurora fights with the Sword of Matildis. Her companion Igniculus is also close and can either slow enemies temporarily or heal Aurora. Johannes is also around for transmuting items and helps to improve Aurora’s abilities with Shards.

Aurora will also age as the journey progresses and bosses are defeated, conferring abilities like hovering. Overall, it should be interesting to see how her play-style affects one’s playthrough. For more details on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, check out our review for the base game here.
