Borderlands 3 information has been coming in thick and fast lately, and we have a bit more of that here. Gearbox Software confirmed very recently that they would be supporting the upcoming looter shooter after it releases in September with “some kickass campaign DLC”, and CEO Randy Pitchford has now spoken a bit more about that.
Responding to a question on Twitter, the Gearbox boss said that Borderlands 3 DLC probably wouldn’t be introducing any new Vault Hunters to the game. The developers, according to Pitchford, will instead choose to focus on the ones that will already be in the game (there will be four playable Vault Hunters in the game when it launches) and expand upon them more with any future content updates.
Even before we get DLC, it looks like Borderlands 3 is going to have a great deal of content. The developers have confirmed that its campaign is going to last at least 30 hours– and that’s if you just focus on the critical path and nothing else. It’s also supposedly going to have “an absurd number” of boss fights, while offline play and splitscreen co-op have also been confirmed. Oh, and it will have microtransactions– the cosmetic kind, at the very least.
Borderlands 3 is out on September 13 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
