Game modes such as Domination have been longtime mainstays of the multiplayer portions of the Call of Duty metagame. Players who play Call of Duty multiplayer at this point know what to expect from each game type. But alongside the vast sweeping changes that Treyarch are making to the single player side of the equation, it also sounds like they will be mixing things up over on the multiplayer side.
For instance, take the aforementioned Domination mode- it will not have time limit, according to a new tweet by the game’s Design Director David Vonderhaar. Vonderhaar explained that in Black Ops 3, a Domination game ends when the match reaches 200 points with the game changing sides when the score hits 100 points.
This is, of course, a rather dramatic change in how the game plays, and should change the flow of a multiplayer match for the most popular game type entirely. Treyarch is always the developer to make some of the most radical changes to the Call of Duty. Sounds like that will hold true this time as well.
That is not all, either. For instance, Vonderhaar also confirmed that hacking mechanics play into the game and have an impact on the metagame entirelyt, though he did not go more into details. He also confirmed that all maps will not have water movement, though all maps will have wall running. However, wall running will be integrated into each map organically, and will be a bigger factor in some maps than the others.
