If you haven’t noticed – which would be impossible given the hype behind the same – the beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout is currently live. This only applies for PS4 players who preordered the game, but if you did, then it’s your chance to try out the first Battle Royale mode for Call of Duty ever.
However, in an interesting twist, Theatre Mode has also shown up as part of the beta, as per CharlieIntel. Though it can’t be accessed, this is the first we’re hearing of the mode being available for Blackout. In retrospect, it makes sense. Theatre Mode has been a part of the franchise since forever, and given how important replays and highlights are for Battle Royale titles, it makes sense for Blackout to support it. Now the real question is whether any Blackout-exclusive functions are included in it.
The Blackout beta will go live on September 15th for Xbox One and PC preorders. On September 16th, everyone will have a chance to try the beta, even if they didn’t preorder the game. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out on October 12th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
