Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer – Map Voting, Classic Mini-Map, and More Revealed

A new close-quarters Tac-Stance and Perks at the beginning of matches also confirmed ,with 12 new core maps coming post-launch.

In addition to the campaign and its new Open Combat missions, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 also features several new multiplayer features. It’s confirmed that all 16 launch maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) will return but modernized and with new modes.

There are four “huge environments” with several new play spaces and three new Battle Maps for Ground War and Invasion. A War map, which evolves the titular mode introduced in Call of Duty: WW2, is also included. Twelve new 6v6 core maps are coming via seasons post-launch.

Hardpoint and Kill Confirmed return, but there’s also a new mode – Cutthroat, which is 3v3v3 and played on core maps. You can also use a new Tac-Stance for close-quarters combat and After-Market Parts for new weapon combinations at the Gunsmith. Perhaps the biggest news is the classic Minimap (where enemies with unsuppressed weapons show up as red dots) and map voting.

Perks are available at the beginning of matches with Covert Sneakers being new; time to kill is longer with core multiplayer health increased; and aiming down sights is faster when exiting a slide. Reload/slide cancels have also been “refined.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. An open beta is happening, with pre-orders gaining early access (and PlayStation owners getting it first).
