Famitsu has released its latest weekly data for software and hardware sales in Japan, and there’s been some interesting developments on the software front. Mario Party Superstars, which debuted on top of the charts last week, is still in pole position. It’s enjoyed a solid second week at retail, selling over 81,000 copies, which is about half of what it sold last week.
A number of new releases figure in the top 10 as we, and Call of Duty: Vanguard is, of course, the biggest of them all. Its PS4 version takes the second spot with over 28,000 units sold, while the PS5 version sold over 12,000 units for a fifth place debut. Collectively, with over 41,000 units sold, it’s quite a tepid debut- last year’s Black Ops Cold War, for instance, sold over 90,000 units on debut.
Meanwhile, Danganronpa Decadence, which is out now in Japan, debuts at No. 3, with over 20,000 copies sold. Fortnite Minty Legends Pack also debuts in sixth place with over 12,000 units sold.
On the hardware front, the Nintendo Switch continues to dominate with over 90,000 units sold throughout the week, which is up from the 74,000+ units it sold the previous week. The PS5 has seen a drop, selling over 10,000 units.
