Capcom Reveals Crossover Card Battle Game, Project Battle

An early version of the digital card game has been shown to influencers online.

Capcom is no stranger to crossovers. Everyone knows their Marvel vs Capcom series, and even besides that they’ve had frequent crossovers with the likes of SNK and Bandai Namco. Now they’re courting an inter-company crossover in an unexpected way, with a digital card battle game.

As a surprise, Capcom gave an early look of the game to several online influencers, tentatively titled Project Battle. It has cards from various Capcom franchises, including their most popular and active properties like Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Monster Hunter, even going a little deeper with the likes of Darkstalkers and Mega Man. The game plays a little different than traditional card games, in that it’s not purely turn based and uses a real time based combat system. You can check out a tutorial of the game’s mechanics and systems posted by Duel Links Meta below.

There’s no release date on the game yet, and it’s not been clarified what state Project Battle was given in, whether it was alpha or beta or even at that level of development yet. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
