New gameplay details for MercurySteam’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 have emerged from Official Xbox Magazine.
Taking place in the modern-day era and the past, Lords of Shadow 2 will have secret areas for players to discover. The number of QTEs has been mercifully reduced as well, and players have better control over the camera, which can now be rotated.
Apparently, Gabriel Belmont’s story will reach a conclusion, with familiar elements in the game such as mission-end summaries being replaced by teleport points. These allow players to return to areas they’ve already visited.
Of course, for those insane people who want to keep it that way, that option is also available.
Boss battles have been changed, and Gabriel now uses a Blood Whip, which can be upgraded. Dracula’s Blood also takes the place of magic, and players can level up weapons such as the Void Sword and Chaos Claws.
Lords of Shadow 2 releases this year for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
