The upcoming action RPG, Code Vein, looks to distinguish itself from the pack of Soulslike games with two distinct things: a unique anime-inspired art style and the use of AI companions. In the case of the latter, it ties into the game’s difficulty, making it major aspect of the game. Today we got introduced to one of those companions, with Eva Roux.
In a new video, we get to see the young woman, who had a less than great time in the post-apocalypse. She seems to have some ties to one of the game’s villains, the ruthless Jack Rutherford. Her face is terribly scarred, and her relationship with the protagonist can possibly help her get over past problems. It’ll be interesting to see how that develops over the course of the game.
Code Vein releases September 27th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. To get a good idea of how the game plays, along with a very nice looking icy setting, check out over 40 minutes of direct gameplay through here.
