Code Vein

Bandai Namco Studios continues its marketing push for Code Vein, the Souls-like title with a strong anime aesthetic. We’ve already seen the opening cinematic and a boss fight featuring the Successor of the Ribcage. The most recent trailer showcases Jack Rutherford, the so-called “Revenant Hunter.” Check it out below.

Described as a combat professional, Rutherford has some connection to the main character. He’s apparently quite ruthless but despite his antagonistic tendencies, Rutherford seems to be a companion that can fight alongside the player. Curiouser and curiouser, as they say.

Code Vein is out on September 27th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It was originally slated to release last year but was delayed to 2019 and resurfaced only in the past few months. You can check out the official PC requirements here, which are thankfully not too harsh. For more information on the AI companions and how Bandai Namco approached their design, head here.
