Cyberpunk 2077 May Be Shorter Than The Witcher 3, More Replayable – Report

Full length of the game, including all quests and story missions, has yet to be revealed.

For quite some time now, we’ve been hearing about how CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is massive in scope. The developer noted that despite the world being smaller than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it was packed with things to do. However, one thing that we haven’t heard too much about is story length.

According to Reddit user shavod, who attended a Polish community meeting where the developers held a Q&A, the length of the main story may be “a little shorter” than The Witcher 3. Though it will have “much higher replayability”, the development team has yet to measure the full length of the game. This includes all of the encounters and smaller quests.

Till now, only the main story and “major” side quests have been taken into account. Given that the main story of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes around 50 to 60 hours to beat, we wouldn’t mind even if Cyberpunk 2077’s story was around the 40 hour mark. After all, there are a number of different upgrades, Life Paths and other approaches that fundamentally change how the game plays. You might even encounter content that wasn’t present in a previous playthrough.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on April 16th 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC so we’ll find out for ourselves in the coming months.
