Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Feature the Voice of The Witcher’s Geralt

Doug Cockle says he hasn't had "any involvement" with the RPG "thus far."

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release next week – yes, for really real this time – with pre-load and unlock timings being revealed recently. Given how deeply rooted The Witcher series has been for the studio, is there a chance that Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt of Rivia, makes an appearance? Not according to the man himself, sadly.

Cockle told Eurogamer that he hasn’t had “any involvement” with Cyberpunk 2077 “thus far.” “It was mentioned long ago but [CDPR] hasn’t brought me in for anything. I’m kinda sad about it actually! Oh well. Maybe in the future…” Which could potentially hint at Cockle voicing a character for DLC or in some future expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t completely without its references to the medieval fantasy series. Back in June, previews of the opening hours discovered retro gaming magazine in-game that mentioned The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as its “Game of the Month” with Ciri adorning the cover. We also wouldn’t be surprised if there were some slight winks and nods with a few of the weapons.

In the meantime, Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to release on December 10th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia.
