Dead Island 2 – Streamer Mode, AMD FSR 2 Support and More Confirmed

PC players can find layouts for Xbox and PlayStation controllers, though keyboard and mouse aren't supported on consoles.

A new technical FAQ is available for Dead Island 2, with Dambuster Studios answering various questions on what players can expect. It already confirmed no cross-platform play, though cross-gen is go, and revealed the hefty PC requirements.

In terms of controllers, PC players will find layouts for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5. However, on consoles, keyboard and mouse are not supported. There is a Streamer Mode to block licensed music, though it doesn’t filter out the copious amounts of gore or remove the licensed music from the Cinematic Title Sequence.

Only DirectX 12 is available on PC, and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR2) and FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening are also supported. For those hoping the game supports “performance-boosting software,” it doesn’t.

Dead Island 2 launches on April 21st for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. It runs at 60 FPS for current-gen consoles and 30 FPS for previous-gen.
