Destiny 2 Crafting System Will Get Changes in Lightfall

The next Destiny 2 expansion is set to see some changes to The Witch Queen's crafting system in hopes to make the game loop less furstrating for players.

In its latest This Week at Bungie post, Destiny 2 developer Bungie has revealed that the upcoming Lightfall expansion will bring changes to the weapon crafting system that was originally introduced with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

As part of the change, Deepsight weapons—the red-bordered weapons that have to be used in order to get crafting resources—are going to become more rare. This is in large part to combat the current game loop, which revolves around using subpar Deepsight weapons just to farm crafting currencies.

Bungie is also hoping to have better bad luck protection for players when it comes to unlocking desirable weapon patterns. The studio hasn’t yet revealed how this bad luck protection will work.

In order to bring some value back from crafted weapons to Adept weapons that drop from Master difficulty raids, Bungie also plans to give Adept weapons the ability to roll enhanced perks, rather than the standard perks they currently roll with.

Finally, Bungie has also announced that Season 19, slated to start on December 6, will also bring with it crafting patterns for weapons from the Deep Stone Crypt raid.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is slated for release on February 28, and will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
