Destiny 2‘s July update (update 1.2.3, for those of you who like numbers for whatever reason) is now available, and it is a big one. It adds a lot of functionality and features back into the game, making it closer to being as full featured as the original Destiny was in the days leading up to Destiny 2‘s launch.
For instance, bounties are now back, just as Bungie recently announced they would be- bounties basically give you custom objectives to complete within a given time frame, also giving you awards, such as Glimmer or rare loot, in return. These were in the original Destiny, but for whatever reason, they were removed from the sequel. Well, now they’re back.
For PvP players, Quickplay for the 6v6 modes has been added into the game, which should greatly help facilitate and streamline matchmaking for those who just want to get in and out of a game quickly. Prestige Raid Lairs, the release schedule for which was recently altered, have been added to the game as well- so on the whole, a lot of what fans wanted seems to have made it (back) in with this patch.
And this is just the big stuff- there’s a whole host of smaller updates as well, which you can read for yourself in the full patch notes for the game on its website. Destiny 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
