Destiny 2 made a brief appearance at The Game Awards with a new trailer for The Witch Queen. It’s a mix of live-action and gameplay footage taken from the first mission. Players venture into The Lure, Savathun’s ship and seemingly discover the Glaive, the newest weapon type in the expansion. Things quickly go south though.
Along with being ambushed by the Hive, the Guardians go up against their first Hive Guardian. It uses a variety of different abilities, creating a barrier and even employing dual Sentinel Shields. Though it’s destroyed easily enough, failure to destroy its Ghost means that the Hive Guardians will keep coming back.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen releases on February 22nd 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. New story missions, a new region, and weapon crafting are also being introduced along with new raid. In the meantime, Bungie’s 30th Anniversary Pack is currently available with a new dungeon, new weapons and the return of Gjallarhorn.
