Ever since the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken, players have had a pretty compelling question about Xur: Where are the expansion’s Exotics? The Agent of the Nine has offered almost every Exotic from Year 1 in his inventory, week after week, but no Forsaken Exotics. Couple that with the extremely low drop-rate of Exotics (that too for non-dupe items), and you have a recipe for weekly frustration.
Thankfully, that will be changing from next week. Bungie community manager dmg04 revealed on Reddit that the upcoming patch 2.2.0 will make it so that Xur sells Forsaken Exotics. Before you celebrate, there are a few things to keep in mind. Fated Engrams, which reward Exotics missing from one’s inventory, will not contain Forsaken Exotics.
Furthermore, given his wily nature, there may be some weeks that Xur doesn’t even have a Forsaken Exotic at all. Still, when you compare this to the terrible luck that some players have had, this is a significant step up. Bungie will also be examining the perks that can roll on armour pieces to drive up interest in the weekly inventory.
Destiny 2’s patch 2.2.0 goes live on March 5th. It also marks the arrival of Season of the Drifter, changes to One-Eyed Mask, and nerf to the Cluster Bomb perk on rocket launchers.
