It’s no secret to anyone that Diablo 4’s announcement back in 2019 was far too premature. The action RPG has been in the works for a while, and turbulence and controversies behind-the-scenes at Activision Blizzard haven’t helped the game’s development, especially with turnover in leading positions. Now, however, it seems the game is making some progress.
In its recent quarterly fiscal report, Activision Blizzard confirmed that development on both Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 is “progressing well”. In fact, the former seems to have hit a significant production milestone, and is now being internally playtested “company-wide”.
Of course, there’s still little to no indication when the game might launch. In November last year, Activision Blizzard announced that Diablo 4 had been delayed– even though the game didn’t have a launch window attached at the time.
Activision Blizzard has also announced that Diablo Immortal is launching for iOS and Android this June, before launching for PC in open beta later in the year. Read more on that through here, and check out healthy chunk of the PC version’s gameplay footage through here.
