Unlike its predecessor, DOOM Eternal is dropping any pretences of having traditional multiplayer component, and is instead offering a multiplayer experience that is going to leverage the unique identity and gameplay of the series. It’s got a lot to live up – what with all the praise the developers have been showering upon it – but it is looking like it might do what we’re all expecting it to.
At QuakeCon last month, id Software dropped new details on the mode, explaining it and its ins and outs in details, from the playable demons, to what kind of abilities players will have (depending on who they play as), to the maps and how they will be designed, to how many maps there will be, to how id plans on supporting the mode with post-launch content, and a whole lot else. They’ve now published a new video that goes over all those details- and while there isn’t any new info in the video to speak of, it does have plenty of Battle Mode gameplay shown off. Take a look below.
DOOM Eternal is out on November 22 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch.
