DOOM Eternal’s Next Update Adds Empowered Demons, Improvements To Battlemode, And More

It's not the single player DLC just yet, but some nice features.

Bethesda and id Software gave us just a bit of taste of the upcoming single player DLC for DOOM Eternal with some screenshots. Unfortunately, we’re not there just yet, so you’ll have to wait a little longer. But in the meantime, there is some upcoming changes to both single and multiplayer that could tide you over before the Slayer returns to tear up some more demons.

The biggest part of this, which is being called ‘Update 1’ is Empowered Demons in single player. Apparently, now when you do get killed by a demon, it will get ‘beefed up’ and teleported to another player’s game. If that player manages to kill it , he’ll be rewarded with tons of health and extra experience. The update will also see lots of quality of life improvements shared between single and multiplayer, such as expanded tutorials, dashing vertically in water, a more detailed death report system, and a host of balance changes. You can read more details through here.

DOOM Eternal is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia, with the Switch version still planned this year. If you’re wondering what the game’s reaction was like, take look at the accolades trailer through here.
