Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Ending Won’t be Like Mass Effect

Producer Cameron Lee says the team is "very aware of fans' reaction to that ending."

Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition has been making waves for all the right reasons but as Mass Effect 3 has proven, it only takes one single misstep to create a backlash. In the latter’s case, it was the ending which prompted much outrage. However, in conversation with MMGN, Dragon Age: Inquisition producer Cameron Lee sounded confident about the game’s ending not having the same impact.

“The controversy about Mass Effect’s ending was just that: it was about the ending. Bioware has been successful writing stories across many games and many years. Fundamentally, we don’t really change the way we tell a story.

“We did of course look at feedback from Mass Effect’s ending, as we do with all of our games. But yeah, we were very aware of fans’ reaction to that ending, but we were positive ourselves about not doing something that would have similar impacts in Inquisition.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be out this November for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
