Dragon Age: The Veilguard Sees Over 70,000 Concurrent Steam Players on Launch Day

BioWare and EA's highly anticipated action RPG is attracting a sizeable audience on the day of its release, if its Steam numbers are anything to go by.

Leading up to its release today, Dragon Age: The Veilguard had climbed to the top of Steam’s global Top Sellers list, making it abundantly clear that there’s no shortage of excitement surrounding the long-awaited fantasy action RPG. Now, its early player numbers on the platform seem to be indicating the same.

As per SteamDB, as of the time of writing, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has seen a peak of 70,414 concurrent players on Steam today, the day of its release. That puts it ahead of the likes of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (over 62,000 peak concurrent players), Tales of Arise (over 60,000), Diablo 4 (over 55,000), and BioWare’s own last major release, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (over 59,000).

That also means Dragon Age: The Veilguard is BioWare’s biggest Steam game to date, surpassing the aforementioned Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, as well as EA’s biggest single-player game on the platform, overtaking Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (over 67,000 peak concurrent players).

Clearly, the game is enjoying a strong launch, so it’s likely that its player numbers will continue to increase over the course of the coming weekend. Stay tuned for more details on that front.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
