After an unexpectedly long hiatus, the Dragon Age franchise is finally set to return with Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and the excitement surrounding the imminently releasing game is being reflected in its pre-launch sales, if its Steam performance is anything to go by.
Currently, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is sitting on top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers charts, having recently climbed to the top spot, and overtaking Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in doing so. The latter was recently declared by Microsoft as Call of Duty’s biggest launch to date, so that should give you some idea of how well Dragon Age is selling.
The fantasy action RPG has enjoyed acclaim from critics, with a current Metacritic score of 84. Combined with the fact that it represents a beloved franchise’s return after a decade-long hiatus, The Veilguard certainly seems to be generating plenty of excitement.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is due out today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
