Dragon Age: The Veilguard Launch Trailer Prepares for War

The long-awaited sequel to BioWare's Dragon Age series is almost here, launching on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.

Between rumors of reboots, name changes, and a long development cycle, BioWare’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard is finally upon us. The launch trailer is now available and succinctly showcases the threats awaiting Thedas and how the Veilguard are ready to fight back. Check it out below.

As Rook, players seemingly start in Tevinter, searching for Solas (better known as the Dread Wolf). After disrupting his ritual, they unknowingly release two corrupt Elven deities who wreak havoc. The only way to stop them is by gathering the Veilguard, cooperating with factions like the Veiljumpers and Grey Wardens, and mounting a counter-offensive.

The gameplay departs from previous titles in several ways, adopting a more action RPG-like approach to combat (with a command wheel). It’s also more mission-based and not open world like Dragon Age: Inquisition, but you’ll still make decisions and deal with the consequences.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Reviews reportedly go live on October 28th. Check out our feature for everything you should know before launch.
