The rumors about Dying Light 2 were correct, too (geez, almost everything about this E3 was leaked ahead of time, wasn’t it?). The game looks a bit darker than the original game, which knew how to fun with itself, but it also looks to be a genuine evolution on the first game.
Techland has brought in none other than- surprise!0 legendary writer Chris Avellone to write for the game, and he took the stage to present it, promising that the game will be the first game of its kind that will react to player choices. I assume that means not just the writing and quest choices (as well as the game’s dualog wheel)- which is a given in Avellone’s games- but also in terms of the multiple systems that were shown to be interlocking in the game.
The actual far reaching butterfly effect style effects your choices will have were demonstrated on stage via a gameplay demo as well. The game looks utterly fantastic- the first game was good fun, but it was never anything more. This legitimately looks like it will stand to be an elevation of the genre.
Dying Light 2 was not given a release date.
