Dying Light 2 Has “Several Games Worth of Content”

"We are designing the game with the foundation that some of the players will miss content and we are okay with that," says producer Kornel Jaskula.

Techland’s Dying Light 2 is taking a very different approach to many significant things as compared to its predecessor. While it will still have a large open world (one that’s supposedly much larger than the first game’s) with various systems at play, the game is also putting a lot of emphasis on narrative choices and the way they will change the outcome of the story, as well as the world within the game itself.

Apparently, all that is looking to come together to deliver a game that is teeming with content. Speaking in an interview with GamesRadar, Techland producer Kornel Jaskula said that Dying Light 2 almost feels like game that has “several games worth of content.” Owing to its vast amounts of content, Techland understand that players will be missing some of it- and that if they want to see it all, the game will end up requiring multiple playthroughs, which is something the developers have spoken of in the past as well.

“It’s almost like we are creating several games worth of content right now,” he said. “We are designing the game with the foundation that some of the players will miss content and we are okay with that.”

“Thanks to the variety of stories, missions, content and assets, we believe that it will make players want to play the game again and again or try to play with other players in co-op to see their worlds,” Jaskula added. “That’s something that we established as a foundation at the very beginning [of development], it’s one of our design goals, and it’s something that we still keep in mind.”

Dying Light 2 is due out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but doesn’t currently have a launch date set in stone. We do know that the game will be making an appearance at E3 2019 next month, so perhaps we’ll find out when it’s coming out soon. Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated.
