After debuting the game last year at Microsoft’s E3 press conference, Techland has confirmed that Dying Light 2 will be present at E3 2019. The developer said on Twitter that it “can’t wait” to reveal this latest look “at our most ambitious project to date.” We don’t know what exactly is going to be showcased but this does get us excited.
Dying Light 2 sees many of the same mechanics from the first game re-appearing like a post-apocalyptic city, undead roaming the streets at night and parkour to get around. Players will see a lot more consequence to their actions this time around. For instance, completing a mission against one faction may result in some bad folk moving into town.
With Chris Avellone of Fallout: New Vegas and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as narrative designer, the developer is aiming for repeated playthroughs in Dying Light 2. There’s plenty of emergent gameplay to be had thanks to the systemic life cycles of the zombies and the large map, which is four times bigger than the previous game. Maybe its E3 2019 appearance will also offer a release date? Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
We're bringing Dying Light 2 to #E3. We can't wait to show you the latest look at our most ambitious project to date.
