Dying Light 2 Stay Human Has Sold 5 Million Copies in its First Month

The sequel has been a big hit for Techland since launching on February 4th. Meanwhile, the original Dying Light has crossed 20 million sales.

Ahead of the next patch for Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Techland announced in a recent press release that the title has sold five million copies as of February 28th 2022. The developer also added that the numbers are “significantly growing” every month.

An update was also provided on Dying Light’s sales. Since launching in January 2015, the open world zombie survival title has sold over 20 million units in its lifetime. Techland CEO stated that, “The success of the Dying Light franchise is a great example of the unforgettable experiences we create for our players.”

Dying Light 2 Stay Human launched on February 4th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC and had three million players in its first weekend. Since then, it’s received regular stream of updates including Parkour Challenges, gear and weapons for each faction, and various bug fixes. This month’s patch will add New Game Plus and is “one of the biggest” updates yet.

Even more content is coming with the first story expansion launching in June. Contrary to popular belief, it won’t be taking place after the base game’s ending. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime and check out our review for the game here.
