Dying Light Announced for Xbox One, PS4 and Current Gen Consoles

A first person survival horror from Techland.

Techland may have dropped the ball on Dead Island: Riptide, but they’re not done yet. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that the developer is working on Dying Light for the Xbox One, PS4 and current gen consoles to be released in 2014.

The game takes place from the first person perspective, as players struggle to scavenge supplies and fight against a crowing population of infected. Day and night cycles come into play, as the infected grow stronger at night. Much like Dead Island, you’ll be able to choose from four playable characters, each with their own styles and skills.

CEO of Techland Pawe Marchewka stated that, “The next-gen technology allows us to create a truly dynamic open world that features a game-changing day-night cycle. Inventive free running mechanics also allow for nearly unrestricted exploration and weapon-crafting to further enhance the action survival experience.”

Dying Light will use Chrome Engine 6, which allows for DirectX 11 features, besides being built from the ground up for the next gen consoles.
