Techland has released its next-gen patch for Dying Light on PS5 with Xbox platforms to receive the same “soon.” The patch introduces three new modes – Performance Mode for 1080p/60 FPS, Quality Mode for 4K/30 FPS and Balanced Mode at 1440p resolution and targeting 60 FPS. PS4 Pro players will also benefit from an improved 30 FPS cap and new networking based on EOS solution.
Of course, some testing will need to be done to see how consistent the frame rate is across all modes. Techland is also busy supporting Dying Light 2 Stay Human which released for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S last month. It’s received free DLC in the form of the Authority Pack and Ronin Pack which add new armor pieces and weapons for the Peacekeepers and Survivors respectively.
March will see a new Set of Challenges added while the Mutated Infected events go live in April. There will be another Set of Challenges in May while the first paid story DLC launches in June. Along with a new story, the latter promises new weapons, events and enemies. More free and paid DLC is planned for the future so stay tuned.
