Dying Light PS4: Techland Adds New DualShock 4 Features

Shout into the DS4 to distract zombies from your friends, for example.

Techland designer Maciej Binkowski has spoken to Polygon about the upcoming first person survival-horror free run title Dying Light and how the PS4 version will incorporate new DualShock 4 features for the PS4 feature.

Switching your flashlight on in-game actually causes the controller’s lightbar to come to life. You can also tap the touch-pad to access the game’s menu, and Techland is working on using the controller’s microphone in order to shout at zombies to create a distraction.

Binkowski also talked about online footage sharing on the PS4 and how it’s of great interest to the studio. “To be honest, it’s my favorite feature of the PS4. Dying Light is a sandbox experience, there’s a lot of emergent gameplay. We can’t wait for people to use it — there are so many situations happening in the office where someone says, ‘Dude, I just did this and I couldn’t believe it!’ We want you to be able to share those stories. This feature is perfect for that stuff. We can even do things like ‘Kill of the Week.’”

Dying Light launches in 2014 for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
