Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires Announced, Releases in Early 2021

Partake in diplomacy and Siege Battles alike for current and next-gen platforms.

Koei Tecmo has revealed that Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires is in the works and will be releasing in early 2021. Along with PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo and PC, it’s also slated for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Check out the trailer below for a little of the game.

Unlike the problematic open world approach that Dynasty Warriors 9 took, Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires is more like its strategy-heavy predecessors. You can still partake in 1 vs. 1000 battles against several mobs and Siege Battles are available to assault specific points. The Edit Function has also been “further evolved” though more details are needed on that.

Otherwise, you can expect to hire different officers, build relationships, manage economic, sovereign and shogun functions, and much more. Customizing one’s own officer is also possible thanks to various parts that can be changed around. We’re still keen on how the game actually plays so stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
