eFootball’s Much-Needed Patch Has Been Delayed to Early November

Konami's football game launched in rough shape, but the patch that was supposed to begin its recover has now been pushed back.

Konami’s attempt to transition the yearly Pro Evolution Soccer franchise into the persistent free-to-play live service that is eFootball hasn’t got off to the best start. A distinct lack of content and barrage of technical issues have been chief among the many issues plaguing the game, and Konami was supposed to begin the road to recovery with a new patch that was due out on October 28.

Taking recently to Twitter, Konami announced that that patch has now been delayed to early November. The company says the additional time will allow it to “ensure the experience is improved for all” players. Details of what this patch will include in terms of fixes and when exactly it’ll be coming in November will be shared later.

Before eFootball’s launch, Konami said it had plans for releasing several updates with additional content and features in the coming months. Whether or not those plans have shifted in light of the game’s troubled launch remains to be seen.

eFootball is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
