Fallout 76 Devs Are Not Focusing On Cross-Play Support Right Now

Crossplay support is not a priority right now as the developers focus on BETA and launch.

It was revealed quite recently that the PS4 will, at long last, soon be supporting cross-play for Fortnite, as well as for other games later on down the line. Earlier on, Bethesda had stated that Fallout 76 would not feature cross-play support, because Sony was not being helpful with the matter- but now, with the change in their stance, it’s natural to expect that the game may now feature cross-play support. However, Pete Hines has clarified that that is not something the developers at Bethesda Game Studios are currently focusing on.

Bethesda’s Pete Hines congratulated Sony on Twitter for supporting cross-play for Fortnite on Twitter, following which a lot of fans took the opportunity to also enquire whether Fallout 76 will feature cross-play support when it releases as well. Pete Hines, however, quickly clarified that the game will not support cross-play for “a number of reasons”, and he also went on to say that they are currently focusing on the game’s beta and its subsequent full launch.

Of course, it still remains a possibility that they might add cross-play support later on, but for now, it’s not a part of the plan. Fallout 76 is set to release for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 14.
