Fallout 76 Players Launched 3 Nukes At Once, Causing the Server to Crash

Perfectly encapsulating the concept of nuclear deterrence.

In spite of all the issues in Fallout 76 that players have come across (and there have been a few), the one thing in the game that has excited even the most skeptical of players is the possibility of being able to launch nukes and fire them at any point in the map. Personally, I believe that’s excellent incentive to get to the end game, even if you don’t consider all the loot and high level enemies that leads to in that area (although why wouldn’t you?).

Either because they were trying to test the limits of the servers Bethesda have got set up, or they really wanted that sweet loot (it was the former), three Fallout 76 players within a single server decided to target three separate nukes at the same area at the map and launch it together. The results were catastrophic. I mean, not the mushroom-cloud-irradiated-mess kind of catastrophic that you might be expecting. Which is to say, the server couldn’t take those three nukes going off in the same area, and crashed.

You can watch it all below, in a video uploaded by YouTube user Nickaroo93. Yesterday, Bethesda noted that a big patch for Fallout 76 is due out November 19th (which is today) that will focus on fixing several issues, including performance and stability bugs, so maybe stuff like this is what they’re looking to address.

Either way, Fallout 76 has done well for itself on launch, at least from a commercial perspective, in spite of physical sales being drastically lower than those for Fallout 4. Read more on that through here. Also stay tuned to GamingBolt, our review for the game should be going live in a couple of days.
