Far Cry 6 Might Receive a “Game of the Year Upgrade” Soon

The package will allegedly also include a new expansion, on top of the first person shooter itself and all of its previously released DLC.

Far Cry 6 may not have set the world on fire, but if all you were looking for from the open world first person shooter was more of the bombastic sandbox fun that Far Cry has always been known to deliver, it’s likely that you didn’t come away from the game disappointed. Interestingly, it seems Ubisoft might be planning a significant upgrade for the game in the near future as well.

@ALumia_Italia – a Twitter page that routine tracks the Xbox backend and updates being made to it – seems to have discovered files on the platformer’s servers for a Far Cry 6 “Game of the Year Upgrade Pass”.

The image itself is all business, so there’s very little information to glean there, but it seems like it might arrive with a new expansion (or perhaps a smaller piece of content) in addition to all the content that has already launched for the shooter. As per the image, the Upgrade Pass will come with an expansion, a season pass, and something called an ultimate pack.

This isn’t something that Ubisoft has officially announced yet, but Ubisoft is, of course, known to be a spectacularly leaky ship, so it wouldn’t be surprising in the slightest if this turned out to be spilled beans for an upcoming reveal.

Far Cry 6 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
