FIFA 23 is “Pacing to be the Biggest Title in Franchise History”

Year-to-date bookings for the franchise are up 4%, while unit sales in North America are up 50%.

The FIFA franchise has always been a massive money-maker for EA, and it’s no surprise that its latest entry, FIFA 23, is continuing to rake in the cash. In fact, as per the publisher, it looks to be on track to be the biggest game in the series’ history to date- which, given FIFA’s track record over the years, is really saying something.

During a recent quarterly investors call (via VGC), EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that FIFA 23 has seen growth in several metrics, with year-to-date net bookings having grown 4% year-on-year for the franchise, and sales in North America alone having grown 50% year-over-year. Meanwhile, FIFA 23 also “delivered record engagement” in the October-December period last year, which, of course, aligned with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Back in October, EA announced that FIFA 23 had seen over 10.3 million players upon release, making it the biggest ever launch for a FIFA game to date.

FIFA 23 is the last game in the series to release under the FIFA name, with EA’s long-standing exclusive partnership with the sporting organization coming to an end imminently. Starting with this year’s instalment, the franchise will be known as EA Sports FC.

FIFA 23 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
