Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 14 is riding pretty high these days. Along with 24 million players, it’s also the most profitable title in the series. The influx of new players over the past few months should continue as the developer nears the release of Endwalker, which marks the conclusion to the current ongoing story.
Producer/director Naoki Yoshida has spoken about the overall size of the expansion, and how it has more story and cutscenes than Shadowbringers (which was critically acclaimed). In recent media tour, he told MMORPG.com that this would be the title’s largest expansion till date. It will reportedly be even bigger than a modern RPG release.
“Especially for the story, when we look at the amount of text, cutscenes and so on… I don’t want to give such a comparative figure, but there’s a lot more here than in Shadowbringers,” Yoshida said.
Final Fantasy 14’s Endwalker expansion is out on November 23rd for PS4, PS5 and PC. You can check out 15 minutes of new gameplay here, or the various job changes and improvements that it introduces here. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
