When Square Enix released Final Fantasy 14’s latest expansion Endwalker, the sheer response led to server congestion and numerous other issues. In order to cope with the same, sales and advertisements along with the free trial were suspended to stop the influx of new players. Things have settled down significantly since then and the free trial will resume tomorrow.
The free trial was expanded significantly in August 2020 to offer access to Heavensward, the first paid expansion, along with all content up to patch 3.56. You’ll also have access to the Machinist, Dark Knight and Astrologian Jobs. The best part is that no subscription fees are required, though you won’t be able to group up with other players (unless they own the game).
Final Fantasy 14 is available for PS4, PS5 and PC. New players who purchase the game will receive 30 days of free game time. Monthly subscriptions past that require paying $12.99 per month. Stay tuned for more details on the MMORPG’s future in the meantime.
