Luminous Productions’ Forspoken finally received an extended gameplay trailer, showcasing everything from its combat and exploration to the story and Frey herself (played by Ella Balinska). Fans of isekai works will no doubt recognize the trope of being transported to another world and gaining magic powers. In new PlayStation Blog post, creative producer Raio Mitsuno details some new aspects of the game, like how Frey, who’s lived a rough life in New York City, must contend with the powerful Tantas to free Athia.
Tanta Sila is the strongest of them. Played by Janina Gavankar, she was once a protector of Athia but has since become a despot. “Cuff”, played by Jonathan Cake, is a magical bracelet that accompanies Frey on her journey. Johedy is an archivist played by Keala Settle while Auden, who puts others before herself, is played by Monica Barbaro.
The music has been composed by Bear McCreary of God of War (2018) and The Walking Dead fame along with Garry Schyman (BioShock). Along with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer Garry Whitta, Amy Hennig (Uncharted series), Todd Stashwick and Allison Rymer are also handling the writing. Stay tuned for more details on Forspoken en route to its release on PS5 and PC in Spring 2022.
