Forspoken Opening Gameplay Showcased With Combat, Exploration, Cutscenes, and More

The action RPG is out next week for PS5 and PC. Check out Frey's arrival in Athia as she learns more about the world and her powers.

Luminous Productions held a special broadcast stream for Forspoken, its upcoming action RPG for PS5 and PC, and revealed lots of new details. The start of the game, which sees protagonist Frey dropping into Athia, was showcased, along with how tutorials, combat and exploration worked in the early going.

It also gives a glimpse at some story-telling, as Frey meets Cuff, encounters a massive dragon nearby, and even suffers a Break Storm. Eventually, she’s taken prisoner by the locals and brought to trial. In the early going, Frey has limited spells and can’t use Magic Parkour to dodge blows or quickly traverse the world.

Forspoken is out on January 24th and exclusive to PS5 for 24 months after release. It will require 87 GB of storage space. A demo is currently available and receives some improvements via a new update. Stay tuned for more details from the broadcast in the meantime.
