The Coalition’s Gears 5 received a number of announcements at the Xbox E3 2019, particularly the reveal of Escape mode. That being said, we only saw a brief trailer focusing on protagonist Kait Diaz’s troubled mind. When will more of the campaign be revealed?
Several days before release in September, it seems. According to studio head Rod Fergusson on Mixer (at the 1 hour and 19 minute mark), there will be campaign cinematic showcased at the E3 Coliseum event later today. For now, however, the development team is holding back on showcasing any of the campaign to maintain the element of surprise.
Gears 5 will be releasing on September 10th for Xbox One and PC. It supports 4K resolution, HDR, and 60 FPS on the Xbox One X, but will drop to 4K and 30 FPS in split-screen co-op with three players. If you pre-order the Ultimate Edition or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can play the game four days earlier.
