Gears of War: E-Day Release Date Could Be Announced on June 7th After Recent GRAC Rating

Announced last year, The Coalition's prequel will receive a dedicated Direct immediately after next month's Xbox Games Showcase.

If Persona 4 Revival and the unannounced LEGO Skylines weren’t enough, Gears of War: E-Day has also been rated by South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee (as spotted by Gematsu). Usually, this means it’s passed a significant milestone and could receive a release date announcement sometime in the coming months.

But the circumstances are different for The Coalition’s next cover-based shooter. On June 7th, it’s getting dedicated Direct following the Xbox Games Showcase, where the team will reveal new gameplay and “insights.” It’s the first proper showcase of the sequel since its announcement last year, and with rumors about a launch in the second half of 2026, odds are high that we’ll get a specific date.

While it’s a given that Gears of War: E-Day won’t go toe-to-toe with Grand Theft Auto 6 in November (or really anywhere near that vicinity), September isn’t looking too shabby. WWE recently confirmed the title as an official sponsor for Triplemanía 34 on September 11th and 13th.

It may not launch on either of those days, but the actual release could be in proximity. Gears of War: E-Day is coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC, but it may follow Halo: Campaign Evolved, launching for PS5 on day one. Of course, Microsoft could always take a staggered approach, as it did with Forza Horizon 6, whose PS5 version launches later this year.
