God of War Director Cory Barlog Has Seen Private Gameplay of Death Stranding

Millions of people harbour instant jealousy toward Cory Barlog.

Though we finally got to see some actual gameplay footage of Death Stranding at E3 this year, what we saw left us quite perplexed about what kind of a game it’s actually going to be. The footage in question was purposefully vague and didn’t show much, which has left millions of people even more curious about how Death Stranding is going to actually play. But while we wait for information on that front, other, far luckier people seemingly know much more than we do.

One of those people is Cory Barlog, director of God of War (2018). Barlog recently sent out a tweet to Hideo Kojima, congratulating him and his studio on their third anniversary as an independent entity, which was promptly followed by a fan asking Barlog if he’d seen private gameplay of Death Stranding. Barlog answered, simply and succinctly, “Yes.” It’s not all that surprising that Barlog is privy to information on Death Stranding that hasn’t been shared at large, given that both Sony Santa Monica and Kojima Productions are currently part of Sony’s PS4 exclusives ecosystem. If only Kojima would share some of that footage with us as well.

Regardless, there has been some vague yet interesting information on Death Stranding recently. We’ve learned that it might have “transformative” online elements, while fresh Kojima Productions employee has described the game as “epic” and “mind blowing”. Read more on that through here.
