GoldenEye Trademark Renewed Amidst Remaster Rumours

Recent reports have heavily suggested that a GoldenEye remaster is in the work, and this trademark renewal is here to pour more oil on that fire.

Trademark filings and renewals are hardly every concrete signs of the things to come, but when you’re talking about games that have already been in the rumour mill for sometime, those filings can seem more significant. We might have another one of those here.

Recently, the trademark for GoldenEye was extended, to use the name for “downloadable game software”. Why is that significant for game that released for than two and a half decades ago? Well, earlier this year, Xbox Achievement listings for GoldenEye 007 were spotted online, giving way to multiple leaks and rumours claiming that a remastered version of the game is in development.

When it will be announced, if it is indeed real, remains to be seen. Leaks have claimed that GoldenEye 007’s remaster should be announced in the near future– but it hasn’t happened until now, so for now, all we can do is wait and watch.
