Fans of stealth games haven’t had a whole lot to dive into in recent years, but with things announced for the future and leaks about other stuff that might rear its head, there’s at least some light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, there might be some interesting developments on the front in the not-too-distant future.
VGC editor Andy Robinson recently took to Twitter to drop a bit of a tease, suggesting that “a certain super spy” might return “in the next few weeks”. While that’s as vague as it can get right now, there’s some things that might possibly be pointing to.
IO Interactive is working on Project 007, Ubisoft is working on a Splinter Cell remake, while The Initiative is working on a Perfect Dark reboot. Meanwhile, rumours have suggested that a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is also in the works at Virtuous.
The likeliest contender, funnily enough, might not be any of these. In one of his replies to the aforementioned tweet, Robinson also dropped an image that shows GamesIndustry.biz head Christopher Dring wearing a GoldenEye 007-themed watched. Interestingly, recent reports have suggested that the classic shooter could soon get a port or remaster.
Either way, we might find out soon enough, so stay tuned for more updates.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a certain super spy returns in the next few weeks.
