Grand Theft Auto 5: 4K Resolution And 30/60fps PC Hardware Requirements Revealed

Do you need 4K? No. Should you want it? Definitely.

While hordes of gamers are squabbling over a game not running at 1080p or 60 Frames Per Second, the modern PC gaming community has another question on their mind. Just how can I beef Grand Theft Auto 5 up to 4K resolution without setting my rig on fire. Well now we know.

Rockstar have already given gamer’s the run down on what they need to play the game and we’ve shown you the various settings available to you. So here’s what you need to get a 4K experience. Rockstar suggests that you’ll at least need an AMD HD 7870 or an Nvidia GTX 760 with 2GB of VRAM. According to Kevin Hoare, president of Rockstar Toronto, this will allow you to “run the game on a 4K display at 30fps.”

As for bumping thing sup to 4K at 60 Frames Per Second, you’ll be needing a “high-end SLI or Crossfire setup.” He prefaces all of this by saying, “One of the lessons we have learned over the years through Grand Theft Auto IV and Max Payne 3 on PC was that people want the freedom to configure their system to suit their preferences”

That’s nice, at least some developers still learn from their mistakes.
