Grand Theft Auto 5 Sales Cross 150 Million, Red Dead Redemption 2 Passes 38 Million

Total sales for the Grand Theft Auto series cross 350 million while the Red Dead franchise is almost at 60 million worldwide.

In its latest quarterly earnings report, Take Two Interactive provided updated figures for Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The former was confirmed to have sold over 150 million units till date, bringing the series’ total sales to over 350 million units. Considering it was last reported to have crossed 145 million in May 2021, it’s impressive that the 2013 title is still pushing so many units.

As for Red Dead Redemption 2, it sold more than 38 million units till date with total sales for the series nearly at 60 million worldwide. Based on dollar sales in the past three years, it’s been the second best-selling title in the US (as per data gathered from The NPD Group). Red Dead Redemption 2 released in October 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One before coming to PC and Stadia in 2019.

Though plans for a current-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 haven’t been confirmed, Grand Theft Auto 5 will be making its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 11th. The Expanded and Enhanced version will include exclusive content for the platforms like select upgradeable vehicles in Grand Theft Auto Online. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
