Several high-profile titles have been revealed in the past ten days or so, ranging from God of War Laufey to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. However, perhaps the biggest game of the decade, Grand Theft Auto 6, offered no new updates, much less tease, despite launch marketing planned to start this Summer. Time to start worrying about its November launch?
Well, no, claims insider NateTheHate on Twitter. “Unless something unexpected and catastrophically goes wrong with GTA6 in the immediate future… it’ll hit in November as planned.”
Of course, there’s still the question about when exactly marketing will begin this Summer. To be fair, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said on May 22nd that it wouldn’t be Summertime for “the next few weeks.” It actually kicks off on June 21st, and while there’s no guarantee marketing will begin on the same day/week, he made sure to reiterate that the open-world title is still launching on November 19th.
So many releases – including Control Resonant, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and more – have effectively gotten out of the way of Grand Theft Auto 6. Others have effectively peaced out until next year, including Metro 2039, Fable, and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. If it were delayed again, what kind of impact would that have, especially on fans’ sanity?
Regardless, until Rockstar and Take-Two give the word, you can expect to terrorize Vice City and the state of Leonida on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in November.
